Stunning Music Visualizations.

Written by Thomas Baekdal | Saturday, February 06, 2010

Remember the crappy music visualizations, which used to annoy us when listening to music on a computer? You know the kind of visualizations that you can still see on the XBOX 360?

Well, a few people actually have the skills to create some that are really stunning. Apple has been doing a really good job with visualizations in iTunes, although nobody ever sees them (they are switched off by default).

A while ago Glenn Marshall turned these automated computer graphics into a work of art. Take a look at the music videos below. Every one of them is an entirely generative/audio reactive animation, i.e., no keyframing or manual input or editing.

...and it is absolutely stunning!
