Philips has been making TV's for many years with adaptive back lighting - called "ambilight". But, the new generation- Philips Aurea - is amazing.
The TV's will project light on the wall behind the screen and on the frame itself - practically expanding the image visuals beyond the size of the TV.

It is available from September 28, 2007 (in Europe only). The TV features Full HD 42" screen, 100Hz updates speed (which improves clarity), invisible speakers, HDMI and a lot of other things.
