Impressive Steampunk Leather Masks.

Written by Thomas Baekdal | Tuesday, November 02, 2010

Anyone who has ever read Jules Verne's "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea" has all tried to envision what Captain Nemo's special diving gear would look like. What about his electric powered weapons that would instantly stun and kill any fish.

It would obviously look very eccentric like something coming out of an almost alien world. Maybe it would look like this amazing underground explorer gear designed my artist Tom Banwell.

It doesn't stop here. What about the "Pachydermos gas mask" which is made as a tribute to the elephant. The auditory amplifier ears are made of copper with leather trim and serve to amplify sounds.

Or the "Sentinel" space mask, designed for "Gryphon Interplanetary Aeroship Expedition," in which the attention to detail is just mind boggling.

Combined the firefighter mask for the same Gryphon Interplanetary Aeroship Expedition.

Truly amazing work!
